Working from pictures sent to me I created a sketch to show the positioning on the ring.
For this ring I set up a couple of meetings with the client so that we could check on sizing and to get the look just right. Sometimes a couple of meetings in between is helpful to make sure the creation is going in the right direction. We first meet up when I blocked out the shape to a simple form, then again after I started adding details.
Once the details were approved I put the form into a flask (middle image) to prepare for casting. Once the casting was finished I gently polished the surface to preserve all the texture I had created.
The final details for the ring included containing ashes inside the, adding engraving to the inside of the band, and finding the perfect ring stand.
